Double Digits

Happy birthday, Rachel! Today she made it to double digits.

Here is a picture of the birthday girl before school this morning. To see a picture of her last year and some baby pictures, go here.

I was in her room yesterday when I realized that her room tells a lot of her story. This child has a great personality and it shows. I thought I would record some snapshots from her room to show who she is.

Rachel India Ray September 2, 1999...This little ceramic bootie was a gift from a friend of mine when Rachel was born. It has always been in her room.

This poster is on the outside of her door. Rachel's room is decorated in pink and orange and she would call it paradise.

Even though she hit double digits and is growing quickly, she can still be caught playing with these once in a while. Especially if the right friends are around.

She has always loved crafts. These supplies are in a cubby in her closet. She will sit down in her closet (yes, it is big) and create for hours.

She is a girly girl.

More bling.

Even more girliness.

She loves to read and is on book eleven of A series of Unfortunate Events. This is on her bedside table. The table is actually an old school desk which fits in well with the High School Musical decals on her walls.

She collects snow globes.

She is a Girl Scout. She started out as a Daisy in kindergarten.

She was a Brownie.

She just started her second year as a Junior and her sixth year of Girl Scouts.

She loves her friends.

And this bookmark is the best thing I came across in her room. It reads, "I am a child of God." I could hope for no greater description of my girl.

What a sweet post!

Rachel seems a lot like Jalyn. And they were both born in 1999. I never realized Jalyn is a little older - her birthday is March 24th. Rachel always looks a little older to me - she looks really tall. Rachel's crafts, jewelry, and snow globes (and toys) could be found in Jalyn's room any time.

Happy 10th!!

What a great way to describe the girl! Happy Birthday, Rachel! Anna turns 11 next week. And she has many, if not all, the same items in her room! Cool. :0)

I LOVED this post! What a great way to share a little about the beautiful girl that Rachel certainly is. I had to laugh-so many places in that room that look similar to another 10 year-old that I know...especially since we've done an "extreme room makeover" on Cassidy's bedroom and I was forced to look at every single thing in that room as we looked to move, purge and rearrange her stuff. Happy Birthday sweet Rachel! You are loved!
